"Personally Identifiable Information" (PII) refers to any information that can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains. This includes information from which other personally identifiable information can easily be derived, including name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card information. To the extent unique information (which by itself is not Personally Identifiable Information) such as a personal profile, unique identifier, biometric information, and IP address is associated with Personally Identifiable Information, then such unique information will also be considered Personally Identifiable Information. Personally Identifiable Information does not include information that is collected anonymously (i.e., without identification of the individual user) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.
"Third Party Personally Identifiable Information" includes Personally Identifiable Information that is collected by Wish List Live through the Site from a person other than the person to whom it pertains or whom it identifies.
Wish List Live collects Personally Identifiable information upon signup for the purposes of allowing users to connect to each other and view their wish lists online. It is implied through the use of the site that the user intends to provide access to specific portions of this information so that they might be located in the Wish List Live database and provide lists of items that they would like to receive as gifts. The site attempts to collect such minimal information that it would be difficult to assemble all of the information for the purposes of locating a user offline, yet still possible to locate a user within the system.
During the registration process, Wish List Live collects a minimal set of data for the purposes of indexing users. This information includes such items as a user id, user name, last four digits of phone number, and zip code. Only the user id, user name, and zipcode (via coversion to town name) are provided to searching users. Other information entered at registration is only searchable, and is not displayed to users. None of this information is required for registration, but searching for a user becomes difficult if that information is not provided.
Users may add gift entries to their own and others' lists. These items are visible to any user that has searched for and added another user as a "friend".
Users may expect to receive notifications via email via features that are intrinsic to the operation of the site, such as notification when a gift circle has completed. No advertising will be sent to a user's email address. The email addresses stored in the system will not be shared with third parties.
Wish List Live finds suggestion items for a gift list based on other items in the list via third party sites. Personally Identifiable Information is not shared with these sites, only the items in the list from which correlations should be made. Amazon.com is currently the only site with whom this information is shared for this purpose.
Wish List Live also provides the facility to search for single items at third party web sites. This information appears inside a frame with a Wish List Live banner at the top. No personally identifiable information is sent by Wish List Live to those sites. You are encouraged to evaluate the privacy policies of those sites before doing business with them.
Information such as IP addresses and browser type information is recorded in the logs of Wish List Live. This information may be used for production of site usage reports.
Information collected at Wish List Live is not shared with anyone but members of Wish List Live and its affiliates in the specific methods as outlined in this policy.
Wish List Live will release any information as required by reasonable request from law enforcement officials and court subpoena.
There is no method at Wish List Live to opt-out of communications, because the only way to receive communication from the site is to Opt-In. Users will be aware when they request to be notified by the site of events by selecting options specifically labelled for that purpose.
Users can correct or update their personal information by accessing the options page, which is available from every page of the site after login.
Reasonable measures have been taken to prevent the theft of Personally Identifiable Information. Site security is routinely inspected.
Users will be notified of changes in the use of their Personally Identifiable Information via a notice on the home page after login.
Children under the age of 13 should not use Wish List Live. Wish List Live is not in the business of obtaining consent forms via FAX. Parents or guardians of children under the age of 13 may create lists for those users.
